This moving and inspirational award-winning documentary pulls back the curtain on one of the world’s foremost lifesaving organizations. The filmmaker was given unprecedented behind the scenes access to the Ocean City Beach Patrol (OCBP) and its staff. Follow 18 and 19 -year-old rookies from their first day entering the Surf Rescue Academy to their end-of-summer professional and physical transformation. This becomes an emotional and challenging journey, which includes their jubilant successes and heart-breaking failures. Watch veteran lifeguards share their most heart-wrenching stories as well as the inspirational moments from their careers. Finally, hear from people whose lives were saved by the OCBP, including those who suffered broken necks and are now walking again due to the surf rescue procedures developed by the OCBP.
